GAIL JACOBSON, JD, FOUNDER

I am founder of Application-to-Offer.com, a College Essay and Application advising service. I lecture and conduct workshops on the college essay and the application process, both in and outside of the school system, as well as privately tutor and advise students in these areas.

I am also a lawyer, educator, former alumni interviewer for Cornell University applicants, and mother of three. I have a B.A. from Cornell University, a Masters from Duke University, and a JD from University of Wisconsin Law School.

From my own experience successfully navigating the college application process with my kids (Harvard and Columbia University graduates), I learned the inner workings of the college application and admission process and discovered the key to college admission: EFFECTIVE ADVOCACY.  It is similar to what lawyers do for their clients to achieve the desired results.

Since that discovery, my focus has been to share with students and parents not only the “how to’s” of the application process but also to guide students in persuasively "making their case" for admission to the admission committee. The result is to transform applications from the ordinary to the extraordinary, and boost the chance of admission.  Using this approach, my students receive offers,  in fact many offers, and scholarships too.

Additionally, I have written an instructional guide for students and parents on 12 Strategies for Boosting the Admission Odds. This guide offers my unique and effective approach for success in the application process.
